What is THC-A?

THC-A is short for tetrahydrocannabinolic acid. This unique acidic cannabinoid is the THC precursor found in cannabis plant varieties, including hemp and marijuana plant. Will THCA flower get me high?

THCA itself is non-psychoactive. However, when THCA flower is heated (through smoking, vaping, or cooking), the THCA converts to Delta-9 THC, which does produce psychoactive effects. This process is called decarboxylation. So while the raw, unheated flower won't get you high, consuming it using heat-based methods will produce similar effects to traditional cannabis.

How potent is THCA flower compared to traditional cannabis?

THCA flower can be just as potent as traditional cannabis once heated, as THCA converts to THC at a nearly 1:1 ratio when decarboxylated.
